Bailey Elementary is pleased that our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of student activities. Listed below are the groups being offered at this time.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Grades: 4th & 5th

Mission statement: Bailey Student Leadership Council gives students the opportunity to practice leadership roles by serving the school and the Owasso community.

Sponsors: Pam Goodell and Janet McGonigle

All positions must have parent/guardian approval.

Ambassadors

*Act as “tour guides” to make new students to  Bailey familiar with the layout of the school and key people. 

*Welcome special visitors to the school

*Greet guests at programs.

*Set up and take down flags for Ram Rally each week.

*Other tasks and responsibilities as designated


Ambassadors will need to apply for this position. He/she may need to be available before school or an evening on announced days. Teachers will make recommendations based on responsibility and maintenance of passing grades. Open to 5th grade only.

 

Task Team

*Students will have varied responsibilities serving on this team. Students will assist multiple teachers throughout the building and assist with recycling efforts. 

Students apply for this position. He/she must be able to work well independently to assist teachers with a variety of tasks. Tasks are on an "as needed" basis. Open to 4th and 5th graders.

 

Library Aides
Aides will assist our media specialist with shelving and checking in books, and helping younger students find books.

Academic Bowl

Grades: 4th & 5th

Mission Statement:  To provide a fun and encouraging academic competition for students

First Lego League Robotics

Grade: 5th

Mission Statement: To provide academic challenges that are collaborative in nature combining legos, coding/programs, and problem-solving scenarios for students.

Sponsor: Edith Dishman

 

Honor Choir

Grade: 5th Grade

Mission Statement: Bailey is one of eight schools who participate in the District Honor Choir every year. Students practice at individual school sites and then combine to create a large choir singing multiple parts in harmony with each other. Additionally, members from Honor Choir may also qualify for the Circle the State with Song group.

Ohitsuji Daiko (Drum Club)

Grades: 4th & 5th

Mission Statement: Ohitsuji Daiko is Japanese for Ram Drummers. This Japanese taiko drumming group combines drumming, choreography, flute playing and Japanese chants and singing for an unforgettable performance.
